EverythingOpen, OpenAustralia, OpenPracticeLibrary.
3 distinct things, unconnected, except by me.
I've disconnected from EverythingOpen. It will continue on it's path, and I wish it well. I eagerly anticipate future postcards, catch ups, and reunions.
OpenAustralia has reached a fork in the road. Will it take the high road or the low? The road less travelled? Or the well worn path. The journey metaphor is a useful one, as those who make the journey take the path that looks right for them. Some will follow a plan designed by their trusted travel agent, others will be intrepid trail blazers and figure it out for themselves, with all the risk and rewards that brings. In a few weeks, the whole crew will gather, to gaze at the horizon, and decide.
OpenPracticeLibrary continues its own spiral of iterations, but may be nearing a time to come back to centre to decide on the many options ahead. Less a simple fork in the road, and more of a roundabout of different directions to consider.
This is context. I've spent the last week at the International Association of Facilitatators Oceania conference in Geelong. It's been incredible. An event for, and by, people just like me. Convenors of connection. However, when ever, and wherever we gather with purpose we have a responsibility to conjure the time and space to let people do the thing. As facilitators we are invested in making it easy for them, not focussed on it.
And so, in letting go of EverythingOpen, I'm making space for something new. Right now, seems like the right time to choose to pursue IAF endorsement of my 30+ years of facilitating people, process, and purpose. The road is open.
